  • 1 tsp Baking Powder

  • 1 Large Egg Can use a flax egg for vegan option
  • 1 cup Milk Can use almond milk or oat milk for dairy-free option
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
Buttercream Frosting
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter Can use plant-based butter for vegan version
  • 2 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Heavy Whipping Cream Optional, can substitute with non-dairy cream for vegan frosting
  • 1 tbsp Gel Food Coloring (Green & Orange) For decoration
Decoration
  • 12 pieces Oreo Thins For the base of the hat
  • 12 pieces Hershey's Kisses To complete the witch hat design

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line muffin tins with cupcake liners.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix the sugar, oil, egg, milk, and vanilla until combined.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, folding until just combined.
  5. Scoop the batter into the muffin tins, filling them about two-thirds full, and bake for 20–25 minutes.
  6. Let the cupcakes cool in the tin for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. For the frosting, whip together the butter and vanilla until fluffy, then add powdered sugar gradually.
  8. Divide the frosting and tint one portion green and the other orange with gel coloring.
  9. Decorate the cooled cupcakes with green frosting, then place an Oreo Thin on top, finishing with a dollop of orange frosting and a Hershey's Kiss.
