- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Wash the potatoes under cold water and pierce each with a fork. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

 - Once baked, let them cool slightly. Slice butter and crumble bacon. Combine in a mixing bowl.

 - Slice each potato in half and scoop out the insides into the bowl with butter and bacon.

 - Mash the insides, then mix in sour cream, cheddar jack cheese, and whole milk. Season with salt and pepper.

 - Fill the potato skins with the mixture and arrange them in a baking dish.

 - Top with additional cheddar jack cheese and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes.

 - Once golden, let cool for a few minutes. Serve immediately or store leftovers.
