  • 1/4 cup Apple Cider or apple juice if unavailable

  • 2 cups Mini Marshmallows for melting into caramel
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies Cereal forms the base, no substitutions
  • 2 cups Regular Marshmallows to be toasted

Preparation Steps
  1. Begin by lining a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang to make removing the treats easier. Preheat your broiler to high.
  2. In a large pot, melt 1 cup of salted butter over medium heat, stirring gently. Add 2 cups of dark brown sugar and 1/4 cup of apple cider. Bring to a boil and let it bubble for about 5 minutes.
  3. After boiling, stir in a pinch of salt and 2 cups of mini marshmallows until fully melted and smooth.
  4. Gradually add 6 cups of Rice Krispies cereal, folding gently until coated.
  5. Spread onto a baking sheet, place 2 cups of regular marshmallows in a single layer, and broil for 1 to 2 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Fold the toasted marshmallows into the Rice Krispie mixture carefully.
  7. Transfer the mixture to the prepared pan and press gently into an even layer.
  8. Cool for 30 minutes to 1 hour at room temperature and then cut into squares or bars.
