Instructions
  1. Prepare the burger sauce by mixing mayonnaise, mustard, dill pickle relish, and ketchup in a bowl. Cover and refrigerate.
  2. Caramelize the onions by heating a skillet, adding butter, then onions, red wine vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce for about 20 minutes until soft.
  3. Form the ground beef into two equal patties, season with salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard.
  4. Cook patties in a preheated skillet for 4 minutes on one side and 3-4 minutes on the other to reach desired doneness.
  5. Assemble the patty melt by buttering bread, placing in skillet, adding cheese, cooked patties, and then more cheese, finishing with another slice of bread.
  6. Grill the sandwiches over medium heat for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
