Step-by-Step Instructions
- Wash 12 ripe strawberries under cold water and pat dry. Cut off the green tops to create a stable base and place the strawberries on a serving dish with the pointed tip facing upward.
- Take 2 ounces of white fondant and separate into two pieces. Add black food coloring gel to one piece and knead until evenly distributed.
- Dust your work surface with ⅓ cup of powdered icing sugar. Roll out both fondant pieces until about 1/8 inch thick.
- Cut ovals from the black fondant to shape monster mouths, and tiny triangles from the white fondant for teeth.
- Attach white teeth to black mouths using a small amount of water. Allow to set.
- Use the white writing icing to attach the black mouths onto the top of each strawberry.
- Place candy eyes above the mouths on each strawberry, using more icing to hold them in place.
