  • 1 tablespoon Brown Sugar or honey/maple syrup
  • ½ cup Chicken Broth or vegetable broth

Method
 

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. In a small bowl, combine your Cajun spice blend by mixing equal parts paprika, cayenne, and garlic powder.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 pound of ground chicken and cook for 5-6 minutes until browned.
  3. Add 1 diced onion and 1 diced bell pepper to the skillet and stir for about 4 minutes until softened.
  4. Stir in 2 minced garlic cloves and the reserved Cajun spice blend, cooking for an additional minute.
  5. Add 1 cup of tomato sauce, 2 tablespoons of tomato paste, 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce, 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, and ½ cup of chicken broth. Allow to simmer for 8-10 minutes.
  6. Once thickened, remove from heat and spoon the mixture into sandwich buns.
