  • 1 lb Ground Beef preferably 80% lean or higher
For the Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce or low-sodium soy sauce or tamari for gluten-free
  • 2 tbsp Brown Sugar or honey or white sugar
  • 1/2 cup Beef Broth or vegetable broth
  • 1 tbsp Hoisin Sauce omit for a lighter sauce
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch mix with water to make a slurry
For the Aromatics
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp Ginger freshly grated
For Sautéing
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil or any neutral oil like canola
For Garnishing
  • 2 tbsp Green Onions chopped, divided
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Seeds
For a Kick
  • 1/2 tsp Red Pepper Flakes optional, adjust to preference

Method
 

Cooking Steps
  1. Cook the Noodles: Boil salted water, cook noodles according to package until al dente, rinse briefly under warm water, set aside.
  2. Brown the Ground Beef: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet, add ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Sauté Aromatics: Add minced garlic and freshly grated ginger to the beef, sauté for 1 minute.
  4. Prepare the Sauce: In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, beef broth, and hoisin sauce, then pour into the skillet with beef.
  5. Thicken the Sauce: Mix cornstarch with water, add to skillet, stir until sauce thickens and coats beef.
  6. Combine Noodles and Sauce: Add cooked noodles into the skillet, toss gently to coat with beef and sauce.
  7. Add Final Touches: Drizzle sesame oil over the noodles, mix in half of the green onions.
  8. Serve and Garnish: Plate noodles hot, garnish with remaining green onions and sesame seeds.
