Cooking Steps
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat, add ground beef and cook for about 5 minutes until browned. Reserve 1 tablespoon of fat in skillet and remove beef.
- In the same skillet, add diced onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until translucent. Then add sliced mushrooms and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Stir in trimmed green beans, minced garlic, and broth. Cook for 2-3 minutes until green beans are bright and tender.
- Reduce heat to medium-low. Add cream cheese, stirring until completely melted. Then mix in the sour cream until smooth.
- Return the browned beef to the skillet, and sprinkle in salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and thyme. Stir well to combine.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over the top of the casserole.
- Broil on high for 1-2 minutes until bubbly and golden or cover and cook on low heat until cheese melts.
