  • 2 tablespoons sugar

  • 12 ounces bow tie pasta can substitute with short pasta like rotini or shells
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese cut into cubes
  • 1 cup ham can substitute with cooked chicken or omit for vegetarian option
  • 1/2 small onion finely minced
  • 1 cup peas use frozen peas for convenience
  • 1 medium bell pepper finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley chopped for garnish

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, relish, sugar, mustard, vinegar, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  2. Prepare salad ingredients: dice ham, cube cheddar cheese, chop bell pepper, mince onion, and chop parsley.
  3. Boil salted water, cook bow tie pasta for 9-11 minutes until al dente, then drain and rinse under cold water.
  4. In a large bowl, combine cooled pasta with ham, cheese, peas, bell pepper, onion, and parsley.
  5. Pour dressing over the salad mixture and toss until well-coated.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
