Step-by-Step Instructions for Famous Red Lobster Shrimp Scampi
  1. In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Once shimmering, add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp and set aside.
  2. Lower heat to medium and add 6 tablespoons of unsalted butter to the skillet. Let it melt, swirling gently. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Pour in 1¼ cups of white cooking wine and 0.5 cup of lemon juice, stirring well. Increase heat to medium-high and allow to boil. Cook until liquid reduces by half, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle in 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning, stir to combine. Return shrimp to skillet, toss gently in sauce, sauté for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat, plate the shrimp scampi and allow excess sauce to drizzle over. Garnish with grated Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley if desired.
