Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine chopped fresh spinach, finely grated Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and any optional spices you'd like to include. Mix thoroughly.
  3. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the thawed puff pastry sheets until they're about 1/8 inch thick.
  4. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut the rolled pastry into 1-inch-wide strips.
  5. Take one strip of pastry and place a spoonful of the spinach filling at one end. Fold the pastry over the filling and twist it tightly.
  6. In a small bowl, beat an egg and use a pastry brush to lightly coat each twist with the egg wash.
  7. Arrange the filled pastries on the prepared baking sheet and bake for about 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Remove the twists from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes.
