  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar Sweetens and helps create a fluffy texture.

  • 1.5 cups All-Purpose Flour Forms the structure of the cake; can use gluten-free flour mix.

Baking Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round cake pan with butter, dusting it with flour.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream the unsalted butter and granulated sugar on medium speed for about 3 minutes until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating each in thoroughly and scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and baking powder. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients along with lemon zest and juice, mixing gently until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. While the cake cools, mix the powdered sugar and lemon juice in a separate bowl until smooth for your frosting.
  7. Once the cake has completely cooled, remove it from the pan and frost the top with the lemon glaze, allowing it to cascade down the sides.
