For the Wraps
  • 1 head butter lettuce or romaine hearts for cups
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds optional garnish

Instructions for Asian Chicken Lettuce Wraps
  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add 2 cloves of minced garlic and 1 tablespoon of grated fresh ginger. Sauté for about 1 minute until aromatic.
  2. Add 1 pound of ground chicken to the skillet and cook for 5 to 7 minutes until no longer pink.
  3. Pour in 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of hoisin sauce, and 1 tablespoon of rice vinegar. Add 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes. Simmer for 3 to 4 minutes.
  4. Stir in 1/2 cup of julienned carrots and 1/4 cup of chopped green onions. Cook for 2 more minutes.
  5. Separate the lettuce leaves for wraps and rinse them gently. Ensure they are intact.
  6. Spoon the chicken mixture into the lettuce leaves and top with sesame seeds and extra green onions. Serve warm.
