  • 1/2 cup Sour Cream Greek yogurt can be a substitute
  • 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese, divided Fontina for a unique texture
  • 1/4 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese No substitutions recommended
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt Adjust according to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper Freshly cracked for best flavor

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil or butter in a cast iron skillet over medium heat. Add 8 ounces of sliced mushrooms and sauté for 8-10 minutes until browned and tender.
  2. Add 2 cloves of minced garlic to the skillet and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  3. Lower the heat and mix in 8 ounces of softened cream cheese and 1/2 cup of sour cream until melted and creamy.
  4. Stir in half of the 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese and all of the 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese. Season with 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella over the top and preheat your oven to 375°F.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Let cool slightly, then garnish with fresh herbs and serve hot with toasted bread, crackers, or vegetable sticks.
