  • 2 slices sourdough or whole grain bread or gluten-free options
  • 2 tablespoons butter or olive oil for a healthier option
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded, sharp or mild
  • 1 cup ground beef or tender steak
  • 4 slices beef bacon substitute turkey bacon if desired
  • 2 tablespoons hot honey or agave nectar mixed with chili flakes
Optional Toppings
  • 1 small caramelized onions for extra flavor
  • 1 cup gouda cheese optional smoky twist

Method
 

Main Instructions
  1. Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat for about 5 minutes.
  2. Butter one side of each slice of bread evenly.
  3. On the unbuttered side of one slice, layer shredded cheddar cheese, ground beef, beef bacon, apple slices, and drizzle with hot honey.
  4. Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side facing outwards, and press down gently.
  5. Grill for 4-5 minutes on one side until golden brown and cheese begins to melt.
  6. Flip the sandwich and grill the other side for another 4-5 minutes until cheese is melted and bread is caramelized.
  7. Remove from skillet, let sit for a minute, then cut in half and serve immediately.
