For the Cinnamon Syrup
  • 1 cup Maple Syrup
  • 2 sticks Cinnamon Ground cinnamon can be used instead.
  • 2 tablespoons Butter Can omit for a dairy-free option.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C) and greasing a 9x13 inch baking dish with cold salted butter.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, maple syrup, orange zest, Grand Marnier, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Gently dip your croissants into the prepared custard, allowing them to soak briefly before placing them in the greased dish.
  4. Cover the assembled dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes or up to overnight.
  5. While chilling, double-check that your oven is set to preheat at 375°F (190°C).
  6. After chilling, remove the baking dish and distribute the pats of cold salted butter evenly over the croissants.
  7. Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 40-50 minutes or until the top is golden.
  8. While baking, prepare your cinnamon syrup by combining maple syrup, cinnamon sticks, and butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  9. Once your bake is golden and set, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly, then serve warm.
