Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a skillet, melt 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter.
  2. Add sliced overripe bananas and sprinkle about 1/2 cup of brown sugar. Sauté for about 5 minutes until caramelized.
  3. Pour in 1/4 cup of rum and simmer for another minute.
  4. In a bowl, mix 1 cup of flour, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, and a pinch of salt. Add 1/4 cup cubed unsalted butter and mix until crumbly.
  5. Pour in 1/2 cup of milk and stir until just combined.
  6. Spread the banana mixture in a greased 8x8-inch dish and dollop the cobbler topping over it.
  7. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until the topping is golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool for 10 minutes and serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream.
