Step-by-Step Instructions for Healthy Sloppy Joe Biscuit Bake
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook for about 6–8 minutes until browned and drain excess fat.
- In the same skillet, add the onion, yellow bell pepper, and mushrooms. Sauté for 4–5 minutes until softened.
- Return the cooked beef to the skillet, add tomato sauce, ketchup, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, dry mustard, and onion powder. Stir and simmer for 2–3 minutes.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Cut each biscuit into quarters and arrange them on top of the beef filling.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the biscuit pieces evenly.
- Bake for 25 minutes until biscuits are golden brown. Optionally broil for an additional 1–2 minutes for an extra crispy finish.
- Let the dish rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.
