Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare the apples by washing and drying them thoroughly. Insert a stick into the end of each apple.
  2. Set up a cooling station by lining a tray with baking parchment.
  3. In a saucepan, combine caster sugar, lemon juice, and a splash of water to create toffee.
  4. Cook the mixture over medium heat until the sugar dissolves, about 3-5 minutes.
  5. Increase heat and boil without stirring until it reaches hard crack stage (150°C/300°F).
  6. Remove from heat and stir in food coloring and glitter, then dip apples into the toffee.
  7. Allow excess toffee to drip off and place coated apples on the parchment-lined tray.
  8. Let the toffee apples cool completely at room temperature before enjoying.
