Dough Preparation
- In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and instant yeast. Allow to foam for 5 minutes.
- Stir in flour and salt to form a sticky dough. Knead for 5–6 minutes until smooth and elastic.
First Rise
- Transfer dough to a bowl coated with olive oil, cover, and let rise for 1 to 1.5 hours until doubled in size.
Prepare Garlic Oil
- In a small saucepan, heat olive oil and minced garlic over low heat for about 1 minute until fragrant. Remove and let cool.
Second Rise
- Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan, transfer risen dough, stretching to fit. Cover and let rise for 30 to 45 minutes.
Add Toppings and Bake
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C), create dimples in dough, brush with garlic oil, sprinkle cheese, herbs, and salt. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown.
Cool and Serve
- Remove from oven, let rest for 5 to 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool slightly before slicing.
