  • 1 tbsp Fresh Herbs (Parsley, Chives) try dill for a unique accent
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice fresh lemon juice recommended
  • to taste Salt and Pepper opt for sea salt and freshly cracked pepper
For the Toast Base
Optional Additions
  • 1/4 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese nutritional yeast serves as a vegan alternative
  • 1 tsp Paprika consider smoked paprika for extra flavor

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Start by ensuring your crab meat is fully cooked if using fresh. Gently flake it into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a small saucepan, melt 1/2 cup of unsalted butter over low heat. Add 3–4 minced cloves of garlic to the melted butter.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked crab meat with the garlic butter, chopped fresh herbs, fresh lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
  4. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Slice a French baguette into thick slices, approximately 1 inch wide.
  6. Place the baguette slices in the preheated oven and toast them for about 5-7 minutes.
  7. Remove the toasted baguette slices from the oven and spoon the crab mixture onto each slice.
  8. If desired, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the topped toasts.
  9. Return the topped toasts to the oven and bake them for an additional 5-10 minutes.
  10. Once baked, remove the toasts from the oven and garnish with herbs or lemon wedges.
