Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and a pinch of salt. Add melted butter and vanilla, stirring until coarse crumbs form.
  3. Press about two-thirds of the crumb mixture into the pan bottom and bake for 15-20 minutes until lightly golden.
  4. Chop the strawberries and mix with a little sugar and extra flour. Set aside.
  5. Spread the strawberry mixture over the baked crust and sprinkle remaining crumb mixture on top.
  6. Bake for an additional 30-35 minutes until the top is set and bubbling.
  7. Allow to cool completely on a wire rack before slicing.
  8. Whisk together powdered sugar, whipping cream, and vanilla until smooth for the glaze.
  9. Lift the bars from the pan, slice into squares, and drizzle with glaze before serving.
