- In a small bowl, combine half of the warm water with active dry yeast and let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy. In a larger bowl, combine sliced unsalted butter, sugar, and salt with the remaining warm water. Whisk in the egg yolk, then add the activated yeast. Gradually mix in flour until a dough forms.
- Brush a baking dish with melted butter and spread the dough evenly into the dish. Cover with plastic wrap and let it rest for about 15 minutes in a warm area.
- Once rested, brush the remaining melted butter on top. Sprinkle mozzarella and parmesan cheese, followed by garlic salt and dried oregano.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 28-31 minutes or until the cheese is golden brown.
- Let the cheese sticks cool for about 10 minutes, then cut into 8 equal pieces.
- Serve warm with marinara or any preferred dipping sauce.
