Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Soak the dried hominy in a large bowl of water for 6 to 10 hours, ensuring it's completely covered.
  2. Once rehydrated, drain and pat the hominy dry with paper towels. Spread on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Preheat the oven to 375°F (convection) or 400°F (regular). Prepare your seasoning mix while the oven heats.
  4. In a small bowl, combine salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
  5. Drizzle dried hominy with peanut oil and toss to coat. Gradually sprinkle seasoning mix, stirring gently.
  6. Spread the seasoned hominy on a baking sheet in a single layer and bake for 20 minutes.
  7. After 20 minutes, gently stir the corn nuts and bake for another 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Allow the corn nuts to cool for at least 15 minutes on the baking sheet before serving.
