Preparation Steps
  1. In a medium saucepan, add 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter and heat over medium heat until melted and shimmering, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Once the butter is melted, add 3 cloves of minced garlic and sauté it for 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently until fragrant.
  3. Stir in 3 tablespoons of all-purpose flour, whisking continuously for 1-2 minutes until well combined and bubbly.
  4. Gradually whisk in 1 cup of whole milk and ½ cup of heavy cream, stirring constantly to prevent lumps.
  5. Bring the heat up slightly and whisk until small bubbles begin to form; add ¼ teaspoon of salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in ¼ cup of grated Parmesan cheese until melted and fully incorporated.
  7. Allow the sauce to cool for a few minutes before using.
