Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Cream together 1 cup of softened unsalted butter and ½ cup of powdered sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
  2. Stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and a pinch of salt, combining thoroughly while maintaining a fluffy texture.
  3. Gradually sift in 2 cups of all-purpose flour and the zest of one orange, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  4. Gently fold in 1 cup of chopped dried cranberries until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  5. Wrap the dough tightly in cling film and refrigerate for about 1 hour.
  6. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  7. After chilling, roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them 2 inches apart on the baking tray.
  8. Bake the cookies for approximately 15 minutes or until the bottoms are lightly browned.
  9. Let the cookies cool for a few minutes, then roll them in powdered sugar while still warm.
  10. Once cooled completely, roll them again in powdered sugar for an extra festive touch.
