Ingredients

For the Tea Base
  • 1 cup Water for brewing tea
  • 1 cup Fresh Cherries pitted and halved
  • 1 tbsp Earl Grey Tea loose leaves or bag
For Creaminess
  • 1 cup Milk dairy or plant-based, e.g. almond, oat, or soy milk
For Sweetness
  • 2 tbsp Vanilla Syrup or substitute with honey/agave
Optional Flavor Enhancer
  • 1 stick Cinnamon Stick for added warmth

Equipment

  • Saucepan
  • Fine mesh strainer
  • measuring cups
  • Fork or Spoon

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a small saucepan, combine pitted and halved fresh cherries with 2 tablespoons of water. Over medium heat, simmer the cherries for about 3-5 minutes, until they become soft and juicy. Gently mash them with a fork or spoon to release their delicious flavor and color.
  2. While the cherries are simmering, bring one cup of water to a rolling boil in a separate pot. Once boiling, remove from heat and add your Earl Grey tea—whether it’s loose leaves or a tea bag. Let it steep for 3-5 minutes to fully develop its robust flavor.
  3. Return to the saucepan with the cherries and add your choice of milk—dairy or plant-based alternative. If you’re using it, drop a cinnamon stick into the mixture for an extra layer of warmth. Heat over low flame for about 3 minutes, stirring occasionally until warmed through.
  4. Remove the saucepan from heat, and stir in vanilla syrup to the warm cherry and milk mixture. Mix well until all ingredients are harmoniously combined.
  5. Grab your favorite mug and pour the brewed Earl Grey tea into it, straining the cherry-milk mixture directly over the tea. Stir gently to unify the flavors.
  6. Your Cherry Vanilla Earl Grey Tea is now ready to be enjoyed! Serve it warm or chilled over ice.
