  • Oven
  • Meat thermometer

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Start by greasing the skull cavities of your slider mold with softened salted butter.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, all-purpose flour, egg, granulated sugar, salt, and instant yeast. Carefully pour in lukewarm water and mix until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead it for about 5 to 7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  4. Once kneaded, place the dough in a greased bowl and cover it, allowing it to rise in a warm area until doubled in size, which should take 1 to 2 hours.
  5. After the dough has risen, punch it down gently and divide it into 8 equal pieces, shaping them to fit the greased skull cavities.
  6. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Bake the shaped skull buns for 14 to 18 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. While the buns are baking, shape the ground beef into skull-shaped patties, seasoning them with salt and pepper.
  8. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add your choice of cooking fat. Cook patties for about 4 to 5 minutes on each side, adding cheese slices on the last minute of cooking.
  9. Remove the buns from the molds and place a pattie on the bottom half of each bun. Top with your favorite burger toppings.
