  • 4 oz Cream Cheese slightly softened
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese shredded
  • 1/4 cup Mozzarella Cheese shredded
  • 2 slices Bacon cooked and finely chopped
  • 1/4 Green Bell Pepper finely chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Cayenne Pepper for a hint of heat
For the Mushrooms
  • 10 oz Mushrooms Fresh and whole, about 20 small
  • 2 oz Butter melted
  • Paprika sprinkled on top for color
  • Fresh Lemon Juice optional, adds brightness

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions for Cheese Stuffed Mushrooms
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Grease a medium baking dish with melted butter.
  3. Clean the mushrooms under cold water and remove the stems.
  4. Dip each mushroom cap in the melted butter and arrange them upside down in the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle with salt and bake for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Flip each mushroom cap right-side up and drain excess liquid.
  6. In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, Parmesan, mozzarella, bacon, and green bell pepper. Mix well.
  7. Fill each mushroom cap with the cheese mixture, being careful not to overfill.
  8. Sprinkle paprika over the stuffed mushrooms and pour remaining melted butter over the tops.
  9. Return mushrooms to the oven and bake for an additional 20 minutes.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving warm, optionally with marinara sauce.
