Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 packet of active dry yeast, 1 cup of warm milk, and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Allow to sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Stir in 4 tablespoons of melted unsalted butter and 1 beaten egg until smooth.
  3. Gradually add 3 to 4 cups of all-purpose flour, mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead for 5-8 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough and divide into golf ball-sized pieces. Coat in melted butter, then roll in sugar (and cinnamon, if using).
  6. Layer dough balls and blueberries in a greased bundt pan.
  7. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Let cool for 5-10 minutes before inverting onto a platter and serve warm.
