Method

Step-by-Step Instructions for Beef Lo Mein
  1. Begin by combining your thinly sliced sirloin or flank steak with soy sauce, cornstarch, and vegetable oil in a bowl. Let it marinate for 10 to 15 minutes.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, toasted sesame oil, fresh ginger, and minced garlic until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Heat a wok or large skillet over high heat and add a splash of vegetable oil. Add the marinated beef and cook for about 2 minutes until browned, then remove to keep the meat tender.
  4. In the same hot wok, add more vegetable oil if needed and toss in sliced carrots and snap peas, stir-frying for about 2 minutes.
  5. Add shredded cabbage and the white parts of the green onions to the wok. Stir-fry for another 2 minutes until the cabbage is just wilted.
  6. Return the seared beef and any juices back to the wok, along with the cooked lo mein noodles. Toss everything together.
  7. Pour the prepared sauce over the mixture and toss vigorously for 1 to 2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  8. Sprinkle the green onion tops over your Beef Lo Mein and serve immediately.
